Over 50 000 School Socks donated in May

May was a big month for giving back.

Thanks to the continued support of our customers, we were able to donate 50 040 pairs of school socks to children across South Africa, helping ensure more learners have access to an essential part of their school uniform.

As part of this total, 2 450 pairs were distributed through our Sock Drop initiative, where our team personally visited two schools in Maitland, Cape Town to hand over socks directly to the learners.

While visiting the schools, we spent time engaging with the learners and sharing an important message: even the smallest act of kindness can make a meaningful difference. Whether it's helping a friend, supporting a classmate, or giving back to their community, every positive action has the power to create a ripple effect that extends far beyond the classroom.

This is why our Sock Drop initiative exists. While providing school socks is at the heart of what we do, each visit is also an opportunity to connect with learners, encourage positive change, and remind them that they have the power to make a difference in the lives of others. By putting socks directly into the hands of children who need them most, we hope to inspire a spirit of kindness that reaches far beyond the school gates.

For many families, school socks are an expense that can easily fall down the priority list when budgets are stretched. Yet for a child, having the correct school uniform can make a real difference to how they feel walking into the classroom each day.

In addition to our Sock Drops, thousands of socks were distributed through schools, charities, foundations and community organisations across South Africa. During May, we were proud to support:

  • Samaritan's Feet
  • Andile Primary School
  • The Groove
  • Uncedo Lwethu Foundation
  • Parkwood Primary School
  • Ubantu Social & Community Development Club
  • OATSA NPC
  • Masechaba Foundation Hope
  • Mzanziunite NPC
  • Shiiloh Early Learning Academy
  • Ofithilile Foundation
  • Garden Village Primary School
  • Shirley Giving Hands
  • Ncedo Training Projects
  • Montrose Community Associations
  • Lantana Primary School
  • YMCA – Samaritan's Feet
  • St John's Primary School
  • Madlala Foundation
  • Anelisa
  • HJ Kroneberg Primary School
  • South African Volunteer Work Camp Association

Every donation is made possible through our A Pair for a Pair initiative. With every purchase, a contribution is made towards providing school socks to a child in need, turning something as simple as buying socks into a way of supporting local communities.

We are incredibly grateful to have been able to support so many children during May. Every pair donated represents a practical item that can be worn and used every day, helping learners arrive at school with comfort, confidence and the opportunity to focus on what matters most – their education.

To everyone who has supported Sexy Socks, thank you. Your purchases continue to help us reach more schools, support more learners, and make a difference one pair at a time.

One pair purchased. One pair donated.
