10,000 pairs of school socks donated this Mandela Day!

Warming hearts and feet this winter

At Sexy Socks, our mission has always been simple: warm feet, warm hearts, and brighter futures. That’s why for every pair you buy, we give a pair of school socks to a child in need. This Mandela Day, we took that mission a step further – donating 10,000 pairs of school socks through Kfm 94.5’s Tracey Lange Cares initiative. Listen to our founder, Dave Hutchison, chatting to Tracey on air below, as he shares more about our mission.

The socks were distributed to iKamva Labantu, a community organisation doing essential work with vulnerable children in the Western Cape. For many of the kids they work with, winter can be especially tough – with some heading to school without even the basic comfort of a pair of socks. Change starts small. This extra layer of warmth can make a real difference – bringing not just comfort, but dignity and the ability to focus in class.

warm toes = easier to concentrate at school = more learning = better education

Being part of this drive, alongside KFM and their incredibly generous listeners, reminded us what’s possible when people come together with purpose. It’s the kind of partnership that helps us scale our impact and reach more children, meaningfully. A huge thank you to KFM for letting us play a role in their Mandela Day donation drive, and to the team at iKamva Labantu for everything you do, every single day.

And to everyone who’s bought a pair of Sexy Socks – this is your impact. To date, we’ve donated over 750,000 pairs of school socks. Thank you for backing our mission and helping us make a difference – one pair at a time.

The Giving Continues

This is just one stop on a much bigger mission. We’re committed to getting socks onto the feet of as many children as we can – and we’d love you to be part of it. Follow us on Facebook or Instagram to see where we’re headed next, and how your support continues to spark change.

Here’s to little feet with big futures!
