If you are looking for an artfully curated account filled with all the men’s fashion inspiration you need (sock styling ideas included), then you need to be following Olé Tshetlo – a self-proclaimed minimalist, contemporary jazz advocate, and an old soul, at the tender age of 24. We chatted to him about his favourite fashion trend of the moment, his personal style, go-to wardrobe staples and, of course, his favourite pair of Sexy Socks.
How would you describe your personal style?
VINTAGE! My friend’s joke that I’m their grandfather. My style is organic, clean, and earthy filled with tones like olive green, warm brown, cool grey, and dusty blue. The perfect palette for an old soul.
What are your go-to wardrobe staples?
Mountie hats, tweed blazers, collared striped linen shirts, rustic leather boots, and bottom folded corduroy pants, to reveal my Sexy Socks. My friends have to reconcile looking like me when borrowing my outfits.
What is your favourite fashion trend at the moment?
Well-designed face masks. Functionally, they encourage people to wear them more during this Covid-19 pandemic. Regarding form, I’ve seen artistic dust masks, stylish sponge masks, to a full-face respiratory gas mask. The only fashion trend recommended by Medics.
What did you love most about the Sexy Socks that you received?
Piet Mondrian is one of my favourite 20th Century artists. So owning a pair of De Stijl socks is reminiscent of his work. It’s the equivalent of wearing Jordan’s for an art enthusiast, like myself.
When it comes to the Midnight Mint socks, the feeling I get from wearing them is like listening to a live Jazz performance, with my eyes closed. It’s sweet, just like the name suggests.
Last one, favourite pair of socks from the entire Sexy Socks’ range?
Haha, that’s like asking a parent who their favourite child is. I’m very sentimental, so the Bananas socks! They are the firstborn, from my Sexy Socks collection, given to me on my 23rd birthday.
