It is our mission to change the fact that so many children in South Africa don’t have something as basic as a pair of socks to wear to school. For every pair of Sexy Socks we sell, we donate a pair of school socks to a child in need.

Mandela Day magic in Capricorn

Together with Samurai Karate and Africa Travel, we celebrated Mandela Day this year and what would have been Madiba’s 101st birthday by donating 750 pairs of school socks to the students at Capricorn Primary School in Vrygrond.

It was a cold and rainy day in Cape Town but that didn’t seem to dampen the children’s spirits as we were greeted with hundreds of smiling faces, high fives and tangible levels of excitement. Each child received a new pair of school socks – there were happy faces and feet all around!

Our founder, Dave Hutchison, also delivered an empowering message about how you are never too young to start making a difference and encouraged the kids to ask themselves, every time they put on a pair of socks: ‘What can I do today to brighten someone else’s day?’. No deed is too small to matter, each act of kindness can make a difference and bring a little more peace, love, and understanding in our world.
